Reader says to listen for the genuine before voting
Some, out of compassion for the unborn, can’t tolerate the thought of voting for a candidate regardless if said candidate’s life and career have been dedicated to compassion for the born.
I applaud Leonora Drzymala (letter in last week’s Herald) for having read one of Beth Macy’s books, all evident of diligent research as well as compassion for the misunderstood and despised in our society.
The late Howard Thurman used to underscore the importance of “listening for the genuine” when another is speaking. May we not have become too jaded to listen for the sound of the genuine when one is seeking our vote.
My hope is that Ms. Drzymala, and others thinking like her, makes an effort to hear Beth Macy speak before casting her vote.
