The Lord Botetourt boys and girls soccer teams will take on Blue Ridge District opponent Northside on Thursday of this week. The girls will be at home and the boys will be at Northside.

The LB girls come into the week at 4-2 after winning two matches in two nights last week. On Thursday in Salem the girls took a 1-0 win over Salem in overtime. Emma Rice scored with under 30 seconds to go in overtime to give the Cavaliers an exciting win.

On Friday the girls hosted Franklin County and got a shutout win for the second day in a row, 3-0. Ally Spangler scored twice for the Cavs and Rice had the other goal. Mikel Johnson and Darden Goode had assists for LB as the girls improved to 2-0 in Blue Ridge District play.

The boys were at Franklin County Friday and dropped a close one, 2-1. Bryson Harvey had the lone goal for the Cavaliers, who fell to 0-2 in the district and 1-3-2 overall.

Both LB teams were scheduled to play William Byrd in Blue Ridge District games on Tuesday, but results were too late for publication.
