Dr. Cynthia Morrow is the new director for the City of Roanoke and Alleghany Health District, the Virginia Department of Health announced last week.

Dr. Morrow will become the full-time director in January; until then she will divide her time between the health district and Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine, according to a VDH press release. Dr. Morrow received her medical degree and a master’s in public health from Tufts University School of Medicine followed by a residency in internal medicine at Medical University of South Carolina.

A listening tour for the cities of Roanoke, Salem, Covington and Alleghany, Botetourt, Craig and Roanoke counties is on her agenda.
