It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mark Lee Powell, 71, of Kernersville, North Carolina on August 12, 2023.
Mark was born to Cecil and Katherine Powell and grew up in Botetourt County with his two brothers, Michael and Steven. He continued to live in the surrounding area until he moved to Kernersville 25 years ago. Mark carried a sense of confidence and energy that drew many people to him. A devoted husband, father, and pawpaw, his absence will be felt by many.
Mark is survived by his wife, Connie, and four sons, Justin, Matt, Chris, and Danny. He is also survived by his brother Steven, 11 grandchildren, and two great-granddaughters.
A service honoring Mark’s life was held at 11 a.m. Friday, August 18 at Trinity Church of the Brethren, Troutville, with burial in Trinity Cemetery.
