The James River girls took the tennis courts for the first time last week and had a busy schedule, playing three matches in three days.
The Knights opened the season with a 6-3 win at home against Nelson County on Wednesday of last week. They dropped an 8-1 decision at Radford on Thursday, then played Nelson County again on Friday in Lovingston and lost 8-1.
“We had several matches go the distance with tie-breaking sets,” said coach Brian White.
The Knights are scheduled to host Bath County today.
