Wanda Keith Roy of Pisgah Forest, N.C., formerly of Roanoke, passed away in her home on Saturday, September 30, 2023, surrounded by family.
She was a wonderful Mom, Gramma, sister and daughter. She fought a long, courageous battle with breast cancer for over eight years. Wanda was born August 21, 1955, and was a graduate of William Byrd High School. She was employed at ITT Night Vision for years, and then Belk and David’s Bridal until she became too ill to work.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, John and Vera Keith, Myrtle Thomasson and Claude Williams; father, Ralph J. Keith; and the love of her life, Dennis M. Vernamonti.
She is survived by her mother, Christine Williams; four children, Brandi Vernamonti-Green (Mario), Brett Vernamonti (Aspen), Jaime Roy Landreth (Cain), Alan Roy (Lynn); granddaughter, Kennedi Overturf (Casey); grandsons, Aaron VanRavestein (Madison), Callahan Landreth (Gramma’s “Bubby”), Daxton Roy; step-grandsons, Mekhi Maratea and Kayleb Green; brothers, David Keith (June), Mitchell Keith (Jeanette); special sister, Sherry Keith; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. A special thanks to Keitha and Clifton Landreth for all of the love and support over the years, the staff of Messino Cancer Center in Brevard, and Four Seasons Hospice.
In accordance with Wanda’s wishes, she has been cremated. A celebration of her life will be held at the Daleville Town Center Clubhouse, 65 Town Center Street, Daleville, on Saturday, October 7, 11:30 a.m.- 2 p.m.
