Troutville Baptist awards Nell Landers Scholarships

Troutville Baptist Church recognized two Lord Botetourt High School 2022 graduates during the morning service on Sunday, June 5, awarding both a Nell Landers Scholarship.

The scholarship honors the memory of Nell Landers, a lifelong member of Troutville Baptist, serving in many capacities. She also taught at Troutville Elementary for many years. Education for young people was a major goal for her.

The scholarship recipients were Hannah Davis and Faith Overbay.

Davis is the daughter of Eddie and Tracy Davis of Troutville. She has been accepted to Radford University-Carilion to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Nursing.

Overbay is the daughter of Jason and Debra Overbay of Troutville. She has been accepted to Hollins University in an inaugural program, HOPE Scholars, for a Master’s Degree in Education.
