Kenneth (“Cheeseburger,” “Kenny”) Wayne Sloan, 54, passed away on Monday, Oct. 27, 2025.

He was preceded in death by his father, Duwayne Sloan; sister, Sharon Sloan; paternal grandparents, Howard and Lillian Sloan; and maternal grandparents, Estil and Edith Long.

He is survived by his mother, Shelia Sloan; daughters, Shelly Sloan and fiancé, Joshua Dunaway, Tiffany Sloan and fiancé, Colton Dame; son, Christopher Sloan and wife, Ashley; mother of his children, Tracey Sloan; grandsons, Timber Sloan, Remington Sloan, Waylon Dunaway, and Dominick Moreno; granddaughters, Kynsleigh Sloan, and Jalissa Moreno; aunt, Sylvia Helmick; uncle, Robert Long; uncle and aunt, Ralph and Agnes Sloan; numerous cousins; and special cousin, Cheryl Helmick Campbell.

Kenny was an avid outdoorsman who loved bear hunting, cutting timber and dirt track racing. He loved his family dearly but his grandchildren and children were the light of his life; he lived each day for them. Always laughing, joking, and ready for a new adventure.

Kenny was a good man, even though he and his family went through some tough times, his love was never unwavering or undying. He was always there for friends and family, both standing up and showing up even in the toughest of times. Kenny would give you the shirt off his back or the last dollar he had and never met a stranger. He tried to be a friend to everyone and knew he had friends everywhere.

Kenny will be greatly missed by so many.

The family received friends in the Buchanan Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home from 5 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 1, 2025. A service was held on Sunday, Nov. 2, 2025, at 4 p.m. at Rapps Mill Church, S. Buffalo Road, Lexington, with Pastor Jay Robinette officiating. Condolences may be made at www.botetourtfh.com or 540-254-3000.
