

Botetourt Sheriff’s Office offering scholarships to seniors
The Botetourt County Sheriff’s Office has launched of the Sheriff Student Scholarship, a new program dedicated to supporting local students in their pursuit of higher education. Two $1,000 scholarships will be awarded, one for a graduating senior at James River High School and one for a graduating senior at Lord Botetourt High School.
This scholarship is made possible thanks to the generous support from community business partners. It is designed to support students who excel academically, demonstrate leadership, and have displayed a consistent commitment to serving the community through ongoing volunteer work and active participation in local initiatives.
Who Can Apply?
- Residents of Botetourt County (proof required)
- Students attending Virginia colleges, universities, or career/technical education programs
- Minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
- Demonstrated leadership and community service
What’s Required?
- Completed online application
2. An essay about your educational goals, leadership experience, and community involvement
3. High school transcripts
4. A letter of recommendation from a non-family members
Applications are currently being accepted with a deadline to apply by April 15.
