Local music lovers are invited to gather for an evening of acoustic music and fellowship during the upcoming “Pickin’ in the Park” community jam at Troutville Town Park.

Hosted by Moonlight Cultural Arts, the event will take place Thursday, June 4, from 6 to 8 p.m. Organizers say the gathering is designed to bring the community together through music, art and shared tradition.

The event is open to musicians and spectators alike, with participants encouraged to enjoy or join in performances featuring bluegrass, old country, folk, gospel and other acoustic styles.

Musicians planning to participate are asked to bring their own instruments, chairs and music stands if needed. Set-up will begin at 5:30 p.m., and players are encouraged to be ready by 6 p.m.

Those attending to listen and relax are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets, along with snacks and non-alcoholic beverages.

David Austin will serve as jam leader for the evening.

Organizers noted that the event will be canceled in the event of rain.
