TROUTVILLE – Botetourt County Sheriff Ronnie Sprinkle reports that earlier in the afternoon (Friday), deputies were conducting a narcotics investigation around 2:30 p.m. in the I-81 Exit 150 area of Botetourt County.

When the deputies moved in to make the arrests, two of the suspects fled on foot while the other two were taken directly into custody.

Deputies and State Troopers converged on the area where the two suspects had fled and after a short search, the suspects were located and taken into custody.

No one was injured.

The Sheriff’s Office reported the two subjects that were initially taken directly into custody were identified and interviewed. These two suspects were then released with charges pending at a later time.

The investigation is continuing.
