The Virginia High School League volleyball season officially begins next week with the first games scheduled for Monday. James River and Lord Botetourt teams will open their seasons on Tuesday, August 25, both at home.
James River will host Staunton River to open the season next Tuesday, then travel to Buena Vista to take on Parry McCluer on August 27. The Knights have a home scrimmage Thursday against Liberty.
Lord Botetourt is home to Patrick Henry next Tuesday to open the season. Then, on Thursday of next week, the Cavaliers will head to Christiansburg for a match against the team that eliminated them from the Region 3D tournament last fall.
