Mollie Angell Wood went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday evening, February 9, 2026. She was born on November 11, 1937.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jessy Newton Wood; parents, Caleb Angell and Calestia Hale Angell; sisters, Maggie, Edith, and Shirley; and brother, Marshall.
She is survived by her son, Larry Wood and wife Wanda; daughter, Tammy Williams and husband Dennis; and daughter, Sandi Wood Witt and husband Barry; grandchildren, Jennifer and Chris Parker, Rebecca (Becca) Williams, Jesse and Teresa Witt, Daniel and Kathryn Richmond, Joshua Witt, and Nathan and Kayla Patrick; great-grandchildren, Landon, Logan, Caroline, Rucker, Deacon, Luke, and Silas; and beloved sister, Mary Hutton.
Mollie enjoyed her working years serving others and sharing laughter everywhere she went. Her laugh was renowned within the family and brought joy to those around her. She loved joking and playfully teasing others, and the one word most often used to describe Mollie was “sweet.”
The family is especially thankful for Mia, who provided excellent and compassionate care for Mollie during her time in the nursing home.
Funeral services were held on Friday, February 13, 2026, at 3 p.m. in the Buchanan Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home with Pastor Barry Witt and the Rev. Floyd Williams officiating.
