Debra Jean Bott McClure was born in Roanoke and raised in Blue Ridge.
Debbie attended Lord Botetourt High School, graduating in 1973. In her young adult life she enjoyed being a military wife and living abroad, including Germany where her oldest son was born, and Alaska being her favorite. Debbie accepted the Lord Jesus as her savior and she was baptized on Easter Sunday 1980. Known to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren as “Bunga,” she was named by her oldest grandson when he was 2 years old.
